The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian Agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP has been working in Afghanistan since 1963. WFP food assistance aims to help the most vulnerable, food insecure Afghans, including women and children, as well as families affected by conflict and natural disasters. In 2017, WFP fed over 2.8 million vulnerable Afghans through various programme activities such as general distributions (food, and/or cash and voucher as the transfer modality); nutrition programmes, through targeted supplementary feeding; school take-home rations; food for assets creation, Purchase for Progress (P4P), training and capacity development activities. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
WFP is currently undertaking the fourth round of its Female Internship Programme and is seeking to fill about 10 internship positions. We are interested in candidates who have a background/interest in any of the following areas: Project & Budget Management; Public Health & Nutrition; M&E, Survey Methodology/Statistics; Food Systems and Food Security; Supply Chain (Procurement, Transport, Food Logistics); Food Technology/Nutrition; Security Management; Public Relations & External Communications; Accounting/Finance; Survey; Information Technology (IT), Radio & Telecommunication Technology; Human Resources and Administration. All positions will be based at Kabul starting on 01 September for a period of 5 months.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Proofread written documents, such as standard reports and correspondence, to contribute to the accuracy of written information developed by staff.
Provide a set of standard business support activities, where required, to contribute to the effective functioning of business operations.
Collect, sort and disseminate correspondene, report and other material.
Respond to simple routine queries with readily available support by senior staff.
Support the maintenance of office files, documents and records in accordance with established system and processes.
Undertake standard data entry tasks in accrodance with defined systems.
Assist in creating simple images or information using standardised templates, such as graphs or tables.
OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work full time, Sunday through Thursday, from 01 September 2018 through 31 January 2019.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
No working experience is required, but relevant experience is higly desirable.

Stipend: Approximately USD 450 per month worked.
